Undergraduate Studies

All study programmes offered at the DHBW are both nationally and internationally recognized and count as intensive degree programmes with 210 ECTS points. Upon graduation students of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University obtain an academic degree. Depending on the school (School of Business, School of Engineering or School of Social Work) and the study programme, the graduates obtain following degrees:

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)
  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or
  • Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.)

In 2006, the German Central Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation (ZEvA) accredited all study programmes of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University. In July 2008, ZEvA validated the programmes as intensive degree programmes with 210 ECTS points. In 2011, DHBW was the first university in Baden-Wuerttemberg that obtained the system accreditation by the Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (ZEvA).

Undergraduate German-taught study programmes belong to the core educational range of the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University. To welcome international students into the student body, DHBW also offers a undergraduate programme entirely taught in English.

DHBW Loerrach

International Business (B.A.)

  • Degree: Undergraduate (B.A.)
  • Study period: 6 semesters
  • Language of instruction: English

The study programme is aimed at international and German students with a good command of the English language. Practical training phases are integrated into the study programme, enabling students to gain experience in internationally active industrial and service companies.

The main emphasis of the study programme lies on promoting technical, methodical, linguistic, social and intercultural competence. Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates are able to move confidently in intercultural environments and face future professional challenges. Comprehensive lectures, seminars and workshops are held in English.

A period of at least one semester spent at a partner university is compulsory. A second degree is intended to be issued by the university attended abroad.

Offered in active cooperation with our partner universities in Poland and Colombia, the DHBW's undergraduate double degree programmes help the students expand their horizons and acquire an outstanding qualification - two academic degrees from both DHBW and the partner university. 

Having obtained outstanding skills and country-specific expertise, the graduates are highly qualified specialists for both the European and the Latin American region.

Upon completion of the double degree programme, the graduates possess a high foreign language proficiency and outstanding intercultural competencies, they are able to think across-the-board and have an exceptional cultural awareness.

DHBW Mosbach (Campus Bad Mergentheim) 

International Business (B.A. & Pregrado Profesional)

  • Degree: Undergraduate (B.A. & Pregrado Profesional de Administración de Empresas)
  • Study period: 6 semesters
  • Languages of instruction: English, German and Spanish

Starting in the winter semester 2015/16, the undergraduate double degree programme is offered in cooperation with the Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga (UNAB). The work-study business degree programme (Administración de Empresas - Dual) has been offered at UNAB since 2005. Eligible to apply are the students enrolled at DHBW Mosbach, Campus Bad Mergentheim, majoring in International Business.

Enrolled students will spend their final year of study at Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga in Colombia, and upon successful completion of the study programme obtain two academic degrees - a German Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Colombian Pregrado Profesional de Administración de Empresas. The programme enables the students to gain field-related expertise, expand their horizons and acquire cultural awareness. As a result, the graduates are ideally prepared to work, as well as specialize in the Latin American region.
